This change only applies to our web applications. Installed versions of PC*MILER and our mobile applications, including CoPilot and MileOn, are not yet impacted by the transition to TID. Your login credentials for those products remain the same. 


As part of our continued efforts to provide customers with a more safe, secure and streamlined experience, we’re upgrading the login process for our products and services. 

Going forward, you will be required to use Trimble Identity (TID) credentials to access Trimble Maps web tools and applications. As part of this process, you and your team will need to transition all current accounts to TID. 

The release impacts the following web tools and applications: Account Manager, ContentTools, MapExact, MapSure, RouteReporter, and PC*MILER Web. (This is web only. We have not yet migrated our installed PC*MILER products to TID.) Access to any other product or service, including CoPilot, is not affected at this time. No action is required to continue using them. 

Your data and product settings will not be affected by this new login.

How to transition to TID

Signing up for a TID should take no more than a few minutes. The process depends on whether you are:

If you are an existing Trimble Maps customer, and you DO NOT have a TID

We’ve initiated this transition by upgrading your account within our database. To complete the process, you will only need to reset your password. There are two places where you will be prompted to reset your password:

If you are an existing Trimble Maps customer, and you HAVE a TID

We’ve already completed this transition by connecting your TID to your Trimble Maps web tools and applications. 

  • After you enter your email address into one of the Trimble Maps web tools, you will be redirected to the Trimble Identity Sign In page. There, you can sign in just as you have in the past for your other Trimble products.
  • If you forgot your password and can't log in, you can reset it by following these instructions.

If are an existing Trimble Maps customer, and you DO NOT KNOW if you have a TID

If you do not have a TID, you will receive an email that directs you how to update your password to create your TID. However, you can also check whether you have an ID on the Trimble Identity Sign In page.

  • On the Trimble ID page, enter your login email. If your email is already associated with a Trimble ID, you will see a green check mark next to your address. Click Next.
  • Enter your Password. If your password is accepted, you will be logged in and can continue using the web tools. If it fails, select Forgot password and follow these instructions to reset your password, and complete the process of creating your Trimble Identity.  

Trimble Identity Sign In page

The Trimble Identity Sign In page is where you will:

  • Reset your password to complete the process of creating your Trimble ID, if you are an existing Trimble Maps customer, or 
  • Create your Trimble ID if you are a new Trimble Maps customer.

Existing Trimble Maps customers

You can finish creating your TID in three steps:

  1. Verify or enter your email address in the Username field and click Next. (If you instead opt to Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, the email address you enter must match the address you used to access Trimble Maps products prior to TID. Otherwise, our system may not recognize which web applications you are entitled to access.)
  2. After completing a CAPTCHA response test, you will be taken to a screen to enter your password. Select Forgot password and follow these instructions to reset your password. 
  3. After completing your password reset, select Sign In and you will be returned to the home page of the web tool where you began the sign in process. If you have multiple accounts, you will be able select the specific account you want to view when you login.

If your email address is not recognized by the Sign In page, you will not be able to reset your password. Please contact our support team for assistance.

New Trimble Maps Customers

  1. If you are a new Trimble Maps customer, you will receive an email that directs you to Create Trimble ID.
  2. On the Trimble Identity Sign In page, select New user? Create a Trimble ID.
  3. Follow these instructions to create your TID
  4. After creating your TID, select Sign In. You will be taken to a landing page where you can access any of your licensed Trimble Maps web tools. If you have multiple accounts, you will be able select the specific account you want to view when you login. 

Benefits of TID

The new TID will help keep your business safe with multiple security features designed to protect your data and access with features including:

  • Multi-factor authentication. Two-factor authentication can be turned on or off with TID. It provides a second layer of security to protect your company’s information from malicious threats.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO). You can log into just one application to become logged into all of your Trimble Maps applications. That same TID can also be used to log into for any application, across all of Trimble Inc. This increases productivity while keeping data secure.
  • Easy updates. The new service gives you the ability to easily change the email address associated with your TID.

Frequently asked questions

How can I change my password after the TID migration? 

All future updates to your TID information will be made in the TID site. Instructions for how to reset your password can be found in the Trimble Help Center

Does TID work with installed (desktop and server) versions of PC*MILER?

We encourage all customers to create a TID now, however:

  • If you sign in and access ContentTools via the Tools menu in PC*MILER, you will continue to use your existing login credentials. 
  • If you access ContentTools directly via its web link, you will need to create a TID. 

We plan to streamline this process in a future release to ensure TID can be used in all PC*MILER products.
